Sylvia Bushell
Sylvia has over 12 years experience working in healthcare. Throughout her career she worked closely with senior managers to develop and implement organizational vision. Much of her time was spent coaching and developing leaders and to implement the practice of caring science. She was also responsible for leading improvement in patient and family centered flow projects and promoting a caring culture to enable organizations to make progress on their journey toward living the Institute of Medicine's 6 Aims – safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable care. Sylvia held the position of Organizational Development and Change Manager in a 250 physician multi-specialty medical group practice as well as in a 3 hospital acute care facility with a level one trauma center. Before that she has worked in a variety of industries – high technology, distribution and telecommunications - in leadership roles implementing shared governance and in transforming cultures to engage employees in an organizations' values and visions. Sylvia completed a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Denver with majors in international relations and economics. She also has a Masters of Arts in art with a focus on textile design from California State University, Northridge. Sylvia was a judge for the Arizona Performance Excellence Program in 2008 and 2009. She has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the Arizona Quality Alliance having served on the Board of Directors, the Board of Examiners and the Technical Integrity Committee for many years. Her professional achievements also include publishing several articles on performance excellence. |
